STOCKHOLM TRIPS

We love our hometown, this is where we live, eat, love and find inspiration. There are a lot of things to do in Stockholm, this time around we would like to share our favourite Weekend Trips.

Visit the Swedish Royal family at

DROTTNINGHOLM PALACE

Drottningholm
Everyday 11.00-15.30

A visit to Drottningholm Palace is no less than a unique cultural adventure. Anyone who is familiar with the typical French royal architecture from the 1600’s will recognise the style and decor both within and outside the castle walls.

Join a guided tour, or take a stroll by yourself through the well preserved castle salons, the gardens and the castle church. Download the app Kungliga Slotten to get the most out of your visit.

Knowing that the Swedish royal family lives in Drottningholm Palace today, makes this trip even more special!

Experience the Swedish archipelago at

SANDHAMN

This island is without a doubt one of the highlights of Stockholm’s archipelago. The island’s little red houses, the idyllic harbour, and the bitter sweet smell of fish, saltwater and seaweed, makes Sandhamn the epitome of Swedish summers!

Hop on the ferry that departs from the city and arrive just a couple of hours later to check in at the Sandhamn Sailing Hotel. Make this trip adventurous and go fishing or kayaking. Spend a day riding a bike around the island and then end the day with some delicious seafood.

Once you’ve been here, you can truly say that you’ve experienced Stockholm’s archipelago!

Visit one of the most beautiful gardens in Stockholm at

ROSENDALS GARDEN

Located in what many Stockholmers would call the most beautiful area in the city, Djurgården, is Rosendals Garden..

Walk through the rose garden, the vineyard and the vegetable fields. Eat a healthy lunch at the restaurant or enjoy something sweet at the bakery. Have fun at the playground or buy something nice in the shop.

While you’re enjoying the beautiful flowerbeds and the lovely outdoor seating you’ll notice that this is a place that does good, both for you and nature!

A break from the city in

MARIEFRED

Sometimes you need a break from the city and all the noise. A perfect place to visit either for the day or for a weekend is Mariefred.

Hop on the 100 year old steamboat ‘Mariefred’ from Klara Mälarstrand in Stockholm city, and enjoy a tranquil 3 hours ride all the way to Mariefred’s harbour.

Once you’ve arrived, take a stroll among the old fashioned Swedish cottages, have a delicious “fika” at one of the bakeries, ride the traditional steam locomotive or visit the famous Gripsholms Palace. While you’re at it, why not treat yourself to an overnight stay at the charmingly luxurious Gripsholm Inn?
